Good news has arrived in the field of multiple myeloma treatment: dual-target CAR-T therapy has achieved deep remission. The dual-target design significantly reduces the risk of drug resistance caused by loss of a single antigen, improves treatment durability, and brings new hope to patients who have failed multiple lines of treatment.
Advantages of dual-target design
Conventional single-target CAR-T may fail when tumor cells downregulate or lose the target antigen. Dual-target CAR-T simultaneously recognizes two tumor-associated antigens, so even if one antigen is lost, the other can still mediate killing, thereby reducing recurrence risk and prolonging remission.
Clinical data
Most enrolled patients had failed three or more lines of treatment, yet the objective response rate still exceeded 90%, with a significant proportion achieving deep remission. In terms of safety, adverse events such as cytokine release syndrome were generally controllable.
Significance for international patients
