Jiahui International Hospital activates a new-generation iPSC platform
Shanghai Jiahui International Hospital has officially launched its latest induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) treatment platform, another important step forward in the clinical translation of regenerative medicine in Shanghai.
Three major advantages of iPSC technology
Compared with traditional stem cell therapy, iPSC technology offers three significant advantages. First, a broader cell source: cells can be obtained through somatic-cell reprogramming, no longer dependent on embryonic sources. Second, a lower risk of immune rejection: the platform uses autologous cell reprogramming, taking the patient's own cells, inducing them into pluripotent stem cells and then directing their differentiation, minimizing rejection. Third, more standardized manufacturing: cell quality is more controllable and stable.
Treatment areas now open
The platform is currently open for clinical treatment of conditions including Parkinson's disease, type 2 diabetes and degenerative joint diseases. As the technology matures, the range of applications will expand further, bringing new options to patients with chronic degenerative conditions.
How international patients apply
As a long-term partner of Jiahui International Hospital, MedBridge can arrange iPSC treatment evaluation and booking for international patients. Patients simply submit recent medical records, and MedBridge medical advisors assist with specialist evaluation, cost estimation and full-service accompaniment. Patients interested in frontier regenerative therapies are advised to seek early evaluation to confirm whether their condition is suitable for the technology.
